Herbed Spareribs

Total Time: 55 mins Preparation Time: 25 mins Cook Time: 30 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 6
  • 3 lbs beef short ribs or 3 lbs spareribs, cut into pieces
  • salt & pepper
  • 2 tablespoons oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup onion, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon dry mustard
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon thyme
  • 1/4 teaspoon oregano
  • 1/4 teaspoon basil
  • 1/2 bay leaf
  • 1 cup tomato sauce
  • 1/2 cup water

Recipe

  • 1 sprinkle ribs with salt& pepper.
  • 2 heat oil in saucepan; saute onion until tender; add garlic.
  • 3 add remaining ingredients and simmer for 10 min.
  • 4 parboil ribs, then place in a shallow pan.
  • 5 cover with sauce.
  • 6 bake at 375* for 30 min.
