Kalbi (korean Bbq Short Ribs)

Ingredients

  • Servings: 4
  • 3/4 cup soy sauce
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 3/4 cup water
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 2 green onions, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon asian (toasted) sesame oil
  • 2 pounds korean-style short ribs (beef chuck flanken, cut 1/3 to 1/2 inch thick across bones)

  • in a bowl, stir together the soy sauce, brown sugar, water, garlic, green onions, and sesame oil until the sugar has dissolved.
  • place the ribs in a large plastic zipper bag. pour the marinade over the ribs, squeeze out all the air, and refrigerate the bag for 3 hours to overnight.
  • preheat an outdoor grill for medium-high heat, and lightly oil the grate. remove the ribs from the bag, shake off the excess marinade, and discard the marinade. grill the ribs on the preheated grill until the meat is still pink but not bloody nearest the bone, 5 to 7 minutes per side.

Manicotti Italian Casserole

Ingredients

  • 1 pound rigatoni pasta
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 pound italian sausage
  • 1 (8 ounce) can mushrooms, drained
  • 2 (32 ounce) jars spaghetti sauce
  • 1 1/2 pounds shredded mozzarella cheese
  • thinly sliced pepperoni

  • preheat oven to 350 degrees f (175 degrees c).
  • bring a large pot of lightly salted water to boil. pour in rigatoni, and cook until al dente, about 8 to 10 minutes. drain, and set pasta aside.
  • meanwhile, brown ground beef and italian sausage in a large skillet over medium heat. with a slotted spoon, remove beef and sausage to a baking dish. stir mushrooms, spaghetti sauce, and cooked pasta into the baking dish. sprinkle cheese and pepperoni over the top.
  • bake in preheated oven until the cheese is brown and bubbly, about 20 minutes.

Hunter's Hash

Ingredients

  • Servings: 4
  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 1 large onion, diced
  • 4 large potatoes, peeled and diced
  • 1 (10 fluid ounce) bottle worcestershire sauce
  • salt and pepper to taste

Recipe

    Preparation Time: 10 mins Cook Time: 35 mins Ready Time: 45 mins

  • brown beef and onion in a large saucepan over medium high heat until meat is no longer pink. drain fat, add potatoes and worcestershire sauce. season with salt and pepper to taste.
  • reduce heat to medium low, cover and simmer for 30 minutes, or until potatoes are tender.

grilled turkey reubens

Ingredients

  • 4 slices rye bread
  • 2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
  • 4 teaspoons mayonnaise
  • 4 teaspoons hot chicken wing sauce
  • 2 slices swiss cheese
  • 1/2 cup sauerkraut
  • 8 slices deli turkey

  • preheat a large skillet over medium heat.
  • lightly coat one side of each slice of bread with olive oil; lay out the slices, oiled side down, on a plate. spread 1 teaspoon mayonnaise and 1 teaspoon of hot sauce on each slice. top two of the slices of bread with a slice of swiss cheese and 1/4 cup of sauerkraut. arrange the turkey on the other two slices of bread. bring the two halves together.
  • fry the sandwiches in the preheated skillet until the bread is golden brown on both sides and the cheese has melted.

Bangers And Mash

Ingredients

  • 8 large baking potatoes, peeled and quartered
  • 2 teaspoons butter, divided
  • 1/2 cup milk, or as needed
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 1/2 pounds beef sausage
  • 1/2 cup diced onion
  • 1 (.75 ounce) packet dry brown gravy mix
  • 1 cup water, or as needed

    Preparation Time: 15 mins Cook Time: 45 mins Ready Time: 1 hr

  • preheat the oven to 350 degrees f (175 degrees c). place potatoes in a saucepan with enough water to cover. bring to a boil, and cook until tender, about 20 minutes. drain, and mash with 1 teaspoon of butter, and enough milk to reach your desired creaminess. continue mashing, or beat with an electric mixer, until smooth. season with salt and pepper.
  • in a large skillet over medium heat, cook the sausage until heated through. remove from pan, and set aside. add remaining teaspoon of butter to the skillet, and fry the onions over medium heat until tender. mix gravy mix and water as directed on the package, and add to the skillet with the onions. simmer, stirring constantly, to form a thick gravy.
  • pour half of the gravy into a square casserole dish so that is coats the bottom. place sausages in a layer over the gravy (you can butterfly the sausages if you wish). pour remaining gravy over them, then top with mashed potatoes.
  • bake uncovered for 20 minutes in the preheated oven, or until potatoes are evenly brown.

Corned Beef Casserole

Ingredients

  • Servings: 4
  • 1 (8 ounce) package uncooked elbow macaroni
  • 1/2 pound processed american cheese, diced
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 green bell pepper, chopped
  • 1 (12 ounce) can corned beef
  • 2 (10.75 ounce) cans condensed cream of chicken soup
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 (10 ounce) package green peas

    Ready Time: 9 hrs 10 mins

  • in a large bowl, mix together the macaroni, cheese, onion, green bell pepper, corned beef, soup, milk and peas.
  • place this in a lightly greased 9x13 inch baking dish and refrigerate overnight.
  • preheat oven to 375 degrees f (190 degrees c).
  • allow dish to come up to room temperature.
  • bake in preheated oven for 1 hour.

Beef And Biscuit

Ingredients

  • 1 1/4 pounds lean ground beef
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 1/4 cup chopped green chile pepper
  • 1 (8 ounce) can tomato sauce
  • 2 teaspoons chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic salt
  • 1 (10 ounce) can refrigerated buttermilk biscuit dough
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded monterey jack cheese, divided
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1 egg, lightly beaten

  • preheat oven to 375 degrees f (190 degrees c).
  • in a large skillet, brown the ground beef, onion and green chile pepper; drain. stir in tomato sauce, chili powder ,and garlic salt. simmer while preparing the biscuits.
  • separate biscuit dough into 10 biscuits. pull each biscuit into 2 layers. press 10 biscuit halves on the bottom of a 9-inch pie dish to form bottom crust. reserve the other 10 biscuit halves for the top layer.
  • remove meat mixture from heat, and stir in 1/2 cup shredded cheese, sour cream, and egg; mix well. spoon over bottom crust. arrange remaining biscuit halves to form top crust, and spoon remaining cheese evenly over the top.
  • bake in preheated oven for 25 to 30 minutes, or until biscuits are a deep golden brown color.
