Grandpa's Barbecue Meatballs

Ingredients
- 3 lbs ground beef
- 1 (12 ounce) can evaporated milk
- 1 cup oatmeal
- 1 cup cracker crumb
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 cup onion (chopped)
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper
- 2 teaspoons chili powder
- 2 cups ketchup
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon liquid smoke (to taste)
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 cup onion (chopped)
Recipe
- 1 to make meatballs, combine meatball ingredients. mixture will be soft.
- 2 wet hands and shape into walnut-sized balls or larger if desired.
- 3 to make sauce, combine all ingredients and stir until sugar is dissolved.
- 4 place meatballs in a 13 x 9x 2 inch pan.
- 5 pour sauce over each meatball.
- 6 bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour for small meatballs, or l hour 15 minutes or longer for large ones until thoroughly cooked inside.
- 7 yield: 80 small or 25 large meatballs. these meatballs can be frozen before cooking on waxed paper-lined cookie sheets and then stored in plastic freezer bags in the freezer, or they may be baked and then frozen as desired.
