Mom's Meatloaf

Total Time: 1 hr 10 mins Preparation Time: 10 mins Cook Time: 1 hr

Ingredients

  • 2 eggs
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 2/3 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon rubbed sage
  • 1 1/2 lbs ground beef (i use 85 to 93 percent lean)
  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar (packed)
  • 1 teaspoon worcestershire sauce

Recipe

  • 1 beat eggs in a large bowl.
  • 2 add the milk, onion, breadcrumbs, salt, pepper and sage. add the beef and mix well. shape into an oval loaf and place in a roasting pan.
  • 3 in a measuring cup, mix remaining ingredients and pour about 3/4 cup over the meatloaf. spread evenly.
  • 4 bake at 350 for 1 hour and 5 to 10 minutes. ( no pink should remain in the meatloaf).
  • 5 drain and let stand 5 minutes before slicing. serve with remaining sauce mixture.
