Gravy Soup

Total Time: 1 hr Cook Time: 1 hr

Ingredients

  • Servings: 6
  • 5 tablespoons butter
  • 5 tablespoons flour
  • 7 cups beef stock
  • 1 cup buttered crouton
  • 1/4 cup grated swiss cheese

Recipe

  • 1 melt butter in a deep saucepan.
  • 2 add flour and stir well.
  • 3 cook over low heat until deep brown, stirring constantly.
  • 4 gradually add stock, stirring constantly.
  • 5 bring to a boil.
  • 6 cover and simmer over medium heat for 1 1/2 hours, stirring occasionally.
  • 7 top with croutons and grated cheese.
