Easy Au Jus

Total Time: 45 mins Preparation Time: 5 mins Cook Time: 40 mins

Ingredients

  • olive oil, just enough to saute
  • 1/4 cup red onion, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon garlic, minced
  • 1/8 cup wine
  • 1 tablespoon worcestershire sauce
  • 2 1/2 cups beef broth
  • 1 teaspoon flour

Recipe

  • 1 caramelize the onions in the olive oil.
  • 2 add garlic and cook for a minute or two.
  • 3 deglaze the pot with wine, then add worcestershire sauce and cook for another minute, stirring constantly.
  • 4 add beef broth and bring to a light boil. reduce heat and simmer for about 30 minutes.
  • 5 strain broth, if desired, and return to pot.
  • 6 add flour and simmer for an additional 5 minutes.
