Pearly Porcupine Meatballs

Ingredients

  • Servings: 6
  • 1 -2 lb ground beef
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2/3 cup pearl barley
  • 1/2 cup teriyaki sauce
  • 1 (16 ounce) can stewed tomatoes
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 tablespoon instant minced onion

Recipe

  • 1 combine: meat, egg, milk, barley, chili powder, and salt in a bowl. mix and form into 2" meatballs. melt butter and oil in fry pan. brown meatballs on all sides.
  • 2 combine: tomatoes, water, teriyaki sauce, and onion in a large sauce pan. bring to a boil. drop meatballs into sauce pan. cover and simmer for 1 1/2 hours.
