Meaty Chili With Mushroom

Ingredients

  • Servings: 8
  • 1 lb bulk italian sausage
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 cup onion
  • 1 lb mushroom, sliced
  • 46 ounces vegetable juice
  • 1 (6 ounce) can tomato paste
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper

Recipe

  • 1 note: for the vegetable juice, i use v8 juice.
  • 2 in a dutch oven or soup kettle, cook the sausage, beef and onion over medium heat until the meat is no longer pink and onion is tender; drain.
  • 3 stir in the mushrooms, v8 juice, tomato paste and seasonings. bring to a boil, reduce heat; cover and simmer for 1 hour. garnish with sour cream if desired.
