Philly Beef 'n' Pepper Strata

Ingredients

- 7 cups italian bread, cubed
- 16 ounces frozen peppers and onions, stir-fry blend
- 3/4 lb cooked beef, cut into strips
- 2 cups shredded monterey jack cheese
- 8 eggs
- 2 1/4 cups milk
- 2 tablespoons dijon mustard
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
Recipe
- 1 place a third of the bread cubes in a greased 13 x 9 inches baking dish. layer with a third of the pepper/onion blend, roast beef, and cheese. repeat layers twice.
- 2 in a large bowl, whisk the eggs, milk, mustard, salt and pepper, pour over the top.
- 3 cover and refrigerate for 8 hours or overnight.
- 4 remove from refrigerator 30 minutes before baking.
- 5 bake, covered at 325 for 1 hour.
- 6 uncover and bake 15-20 minutes longer or until a knife inserted in the middle comes out clean. let stand for 10 minutes before serving.
