Patty Melts

Total Time: 30 mins Preparation Time: 10 mins Cook Time: 20 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 4
  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 teaspoon parsley
  • 1/4 teaspoon thyme
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 2 slices bread, turned into soft crumbs
  • 4 medium onions, sliced thin
  • 2 teaspoons butter
  • 4 slices swiss cheese (thick slices)
  • 4 slices rye bread
  • salt and pepper

Recipe

  • 1 mix together the ingredients from beef to bread crumbs-mix well and form into 4 patties.
  • 2 in a large skillet cook patties.
  • 3 meanwhile- in a medium skillet melt butter over medium, medium high heat.
  • 4 add onions and saute until light brown.
  • 5 meanwhile- toast bread and place on 4 plates.
  • 6 place hot patty on toast, then swiss, then hot onions.
  • 7 salt and pepper to taste.
