Patty Melts

Ingredients
- Servings: 4
- 1 lb lean ground beef
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper
- 1 teaspoon parsley
- 1/4 teaspoon thyme
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 2 slices bread, turned into soft crumbs
- 4 medium onions, sliced thin
- 2 teaspoons butter
- 4 slices swiss cheese (thick slices)
- 4 slices rye bread
- salt and pepper
Recipe
- 1 mix together the ingredients from beef to bread crumbs-mix well and form into 4 patties.
- 2 in a large skillet cook patties.
- 3 meanwhile- in a medium skillet melt butter over medium, medium high heat.
- 4 add onions and saute until light brown.
- 5 meanwhile- toast bread and place on 4 plates.
- 6 place hot patty on toast, then swiss, then hot onions.
- 7 salt and pepper to taste.
