Italian Meat Sauce

Total Time: 12 hrs 10 mins Preparation Time: 10 mins Cook Time: 12 hrs

Ingredients

  • Servings: 10
  • 2 lbs ground beef
  • 2 cups chopped onions
  • 2 teaspoons minced garlic
  • 1 (29 ounce) can tomato sauce
  • 2 (6 ounce) cans tomato paste
  • 2/3 cup chopped celery
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 2 teaspoons oregano
  • 1/4 teaspoon thyme
  • 1 bay leaf

Recipe

  • 1 brown ground beef with onions. place in slow cooker.
  • 2 combine remaining ingredients and add to slow cooker. mix well. cover and cook on low for 12 hours.
  • 3 remove from slow cooker and allow to cool. place in freezer bags or use in recipes. label and freeze.
  • 4 to serve: thaw. heat until hot and bubbly.
