Meat And Potato Hash With Dumplings (beef)

Ingredients

- 500 g minced beef
- half a swede, peeled and cubed
- 800 g potatoes, peeled and cubed
- 4 carrots, peeled and sliced
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 oxo cubes made up to 1/2 pt beef stock
- 100 g self raising flour
- 50 g suet
Recipe
- 1 par boil potato and swede.
- 2 brown minced beef, carrot and onion for 5 minutes in a large pot.
- 3 drain potato and swede and add to minced beef pot.
- 4 add beef stock.
- 5 bring to boil, season and simmer for 20 minutes.
- 6 make dumplings by mixing flour and suet with a little cold water until they hold together but are not sticky. make into tablespoon size balls and add to pot. they should float.
- 7 simmer for about 30 minutes or until dumplings are ready. add more water if it starts to dry out.
