Grandma Sahlstrom's Ham Loaf

Ingredients
- 1 1/2 lbs veal or 1 1/2 lbs ground beef
- 1 lb finely ground ham
- 1 cup cracker crumb
- 1 cup milk
- salt & pepper
- 2 eggs
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons paprika
- 1 tablespoon dry mustard
- 1/2 cup vinegar
- 1/2 cup water
Recipe
- 1 mix first 6 ingredients, well with hands and mold in pan. cover with foil and bake at 250 – 275 degrees for 2 ½ - 3 hours. keep covered until the last 1hr.
- 2 while ham loaf is baking prepare sauce with remaining ingredients: place all ingredients in a small sauce pan bring to a boil for a minute. simmer 10-15 minutes.
- 3 when one hour remains drain off liquid from ham loaf and pour over sauce ham loaf. basting every 15 minutes until sauce forms a glaze. turn up a heat a little.
