Pastitsio Pie

Ingredients

- 200 g penne
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 garlic cloves, crushed
- 500 g ground beef
- 500 g pasta sauce
- 340 g fresh bechamel sauce
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 cup parmesan cheese, shredded
Recipe
- 1 preheat oven to 180°c.
- 2 grease a 22cm springform pan, and line base and sides with baking paper.
- 3 cook pasta until tender. drain. return to pan.
- 4 heat oil in large frypan. add onion and garlic. cook for 5 minutes.
- 5 add mince and cook until brown. add pasta sauce and 1/4c water. simmer uncovered for 5-7 minutes or until sauce thickens. add to pasta.
- 6 combine bechamel sauce and eggs. add 1/2c to pasta mix, stir to combine.
- 7 place pasta mix in pan. smooth surface. pour over remaining sauce. sprinkle with parmesan.
- 8 bake 25-30 minutes until golden.
- 9 stand 20 minutes. slice into wedges and serve.
