Cardamom Sauce-kardemommesauce

Total Time: 20 mins Preparation Time: 5 mins Cook Time: 15 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 4
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cardamom
  • 6 large fresh mint leaves
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup port wine

Recipe

  • 1 blend the water and the honey with the cardamom and place over medium-low heat. bring to a siimer and cook 5 minutes, stirring constantly.
  • 2 chop the mint leaves and add with the salt to the mixture. simmer 2 minutes more. remove from heat and let cool to room temperature.
  • 3 when ready to serve, add the port and mix well.
  • 4 if the sauce is too thick, add a little more wine and mix again.
  • 5 pour into serving bowl and serve with sliced roast beef.
