French Onion Soup

Ingredients
- Servings: 6
- 6 medium sweet onions (i used 3)
- 3 tablespoons butter
- 2 bay leaves
- 2 tablespoons fresh thyme leaves
- salt and pepper
- 1 cup dry wine (i used pinot grigio)
- 1 quart beef stock
- 2 tablespoons worcestershire sauce
Recipe
- 1 caramelize onions in large soup pot with butter, bay leaves, thyme, salt and peper. stir frequently and let caramelize for about 40 minutes over meduim heat.
- 2 deglazed pan with wine for a minute stirring constantly. add stock, worcestershire and salt and pepper to taste.
- 3 simmer 15 minutes.
